Never So Cool, Harry's seventh CD, is an album of jazz classics that blends refined taste with sophisticated music invention. The charts, written by the preeminent arranging team of Gordon Brisker, Lon Norman and Rusty Higgins present a remarkable degree of textural integration within the ensemble, while still leaving each artist room to display to the fullest his individual talent. Only a band possessing this group's exceptional musicianship could meet the expectations and challenges presented by the complexity of these charts. In addition to Harry's outstanding clarinet work are formidable performances by David Hay on piano, Larry Gray on bass, Leon Joyce on drums and Jim Cooper on vibraphone.
